The Queen's traveling expenses

July 2, 1892

Queen Victoria's trip to Grasse last year cost £10,000, according a report in the London Truth.  Because the Queen's visits to Darmstadt "involved so much additional expense, that the Queen's "outlay in connection with her Continental Tour" will cost £15,000, which is said to be the "largest sum" so far for one of the Queen's trips, except in 1888, when Queen Victoria traveled to Florance, and then visited Berlin before returning home.
