Princess Paley loses suit to regain property

In London today, a judge ruled against Olga, Princess Paley, in her suit for furniture, art and tapestries worth $240,000 against dealers who had bought them from the Soviet government. The judge ruled in high court that the princess had been deprived of her property "in accordance with Russian law," and thus, the sale to the dealers could not be upset.
The judge concluded that the the princess' palace had become a state museum and a her property "formed a part of the museum and had become state property."
